Well here it is the first post of my new blog. WELCOME!
It's here! Common Core is here! Many school districts across the United States will be implementing the Common Core this school year. We are hearing new trigger words with the newest one being RIGOR. In my district, we have in been preparing for the Common Core for a few years and kindergarten implemented a new common core lessons for reading and math last year.
So onto the purpose of this blog. I am hoping to use this to aid parents in understanding how the common core has changed learning and the classroom. I want parents to see how we are adding rigor into our learning and the process we are making in the classroom on a regular basis.
Hi Michele,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on creating the blog. The blog will a great way to keep parents and uninformed overseas teachers like myself up to date on the new common core elements ;) Might I suggest a picture or an update on your about me section so that people know whose blog they are reading. If I wasn't following the link from the discussion board I would not have known, your name isn't listed anywhere on the blog page.
Ryan
Thanks Ryan,
ReplyDeleteI am so nervous about sharing images of myself, not because I worry but because I hate pictures! I will try and add something soon.
Hello Michele. I truly love the idea you have for your blog because my son is in kindergarten and a parent site would be a great think to have access to. You have your first parent right here ready to read your blog. :)
